Shysta presently enjoys a largely Civil/Common law practice, with a
particular emphasis on Personal Injury Litigation. She undertakes both
Claimant and Defendant work. She has a developing practice in Family
Law. However she also has interests in all areas of Immigration and
Asylum law, and pro bono work. She was recently appointed as Grade C
Counsel and appears on the Attorney General List of Prosecution Advocate
for H.M. Customs and Excise, Inland Revenue and the DTI. She spent a
3 month secondment with H.M. Customs & Excise in Manchester.
She was awarded the Sir Thomas More BVC Scholarship by Lincoln’s
Inn. She was also a Finalist in the UK Asian Young Achievers.
She is an accredited Advice Worker
under the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux forum (NACAB).
She is a Pro Bono Barrister for Immigration advice/representation
at Bury Law Centre.
Shysta enjoys contemporary fashion, culture and travelling. She has
varied interests in current affairs, politics and international relations.
She speaks both Punjabi and Urdu.
